Gary and I went to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" this weekend. Although different from the original Willy Wonka movie, I thought it was pretty good.
One thing I found weird about the movie is that Charlie Bucket looked a lot like Tony Blair to me. Gary didn't think so until I showed him these two photos:
(Hey, I can't think about babies all the time, ok? And no, he's not here yet!)
Tony Blair is better looking. I don't know enough about Charlie's politics to compare them with Blair's, but anyone who thinks he can solve problems by throwing chocolate at them is a liberal in my book.
Posted by: Jessica at July 28, 2005 07:27 PMWe took our girls to see the movie yesterday. Quite a few of them fell asleep! I like the first movie better than this one--the humour in this seems a bit too dark for younger kids, but held a definite appeal for my students (disturbed teenage girls)! The squirrels got a standing ovation!
All in all, though--it was entertaining. As for Mr. Blair and his war-mongering cohorts--let the squirrels deal with them!
Hang in there Jen--
