and some video footage

I uploaded some short video clips to YouTube this morning. I need to find a quick and easy video editor before I upload too many more. For now you'll just have to suffer through a few extra seconds of Elliot.

He's not much of a singer yet. However, he's quite scientific examining the oven mitts to make sure they both behave the same way.

I still think you should teach him to type so he can communicate his more complicated thoughts until he can talk better. He must know several hundred words by now, if not more, and apparently the reading is coming along well.

He is learning to type, although currently he uses the hunt-and-peck method.

Gary estimates Elliot knows close to a thousand words. I would guess fewer, but more than 500.

I'm not doubting your estimates, but how do you come up with them?

I know you will make sure he learns proper touch typing when he's old enough.

Several months ago we wrote down all the words Elliot knew. That list got to well over a hundred, and he learns new words every day. I don't think he has instant recall of some of the words he's learned recently; for example, if I point to the piano and ask him what it is, he may not always say piano. But if I ask him to point to the piano, he can point to it and say "piano" (usually repeatedly).
