I'm writing this at just before 6 in the morning. The last time Lexi woke up, to my knowledge, was around 11 last night. I am hoping it's a trend!
Gary cut the top branch off our Christmas tree because it was crooked and put it in our kitchen compost pail. I found this really funny for some reason.
Elliot's experiment was a success. He didn't fall out of bed and still loves the fact that he can get in and out of bed by himself. He doesn't get out of bed on his own in the morning, since I think he's so used to waiting until Gary or I get him. I'm sure this will change soon enough!
Lexi's experiment has more tentative results. She hasn't been fussier or spit up more than usual. I haven't had more dairy since Sunday; I plan to try again this weekend. I am hoping even if she still is intolerant to large amounts of dairy, I can relax my diet a bit and not worry about every single ingredient.
We are trying two experiments today. The first is that I had some dairy products (on purpose) for the first time in about 4 months. We went out to eat lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant, where I hadn't been in a long time. I had sour cream and cheese, delicious! Lexi didn't have any problems this evening, but we are waiting to see how she reacts over the next couple of days. I've decided to stay off dairy this week and try again next weekend if she doesn't react.
The second experiment is having Elliot sleep in a bed! He and Gary took the bars off his crib this morning, converting it into a toddler bed. He's been extremely excited about the bed all day, and kept telling us how he had a bed with no bars upstairs in his room. He's been in bed for nearly 3 hours now, sleeping soundly.
In retrospect I am wondering if it was such a good idea to do both experiments on the same day, but it's too late to do anything about it now.
